The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 297

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 7 of our latest level 5 lock down. January 6th was always a special day in the old days back in West Limerick. It was and is Little Christmas or Womens Christmas and I don't mean that in a sexist manner. The women of the house and especially my Mum weren't allowed to lift a finger or do any work on the farm or in the kitchen, just rest and be pampered. Dad would be setting the scene since Christmas and reminding us to lend our support and to honour the women in the house. He would always cook a beautiful goose for mains, smoked ham for starters and plum pudding and fresh cream for dessert. It was always a wonderful occasion for the women in the house but the person of high honour was my Mum. How about all you men out there honour the women in your life, give them a day off and pamper them. It worked well in the old days and I'm sure it will again. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.
