The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1446

At this special time of year hope is beyond what we imagine because although spring always arrives it is always different, beautiful to the eye and heart and soothing to the soul. A great time to be alive and enjoy its beauty and promise.

Good morning everyone and a fine, frosty morning it is here at Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Earlier this morning I had a quick perusal at the gardens and what was hidden over the winter period is now visible, especially the camellias and their rose blossoms, plants budding all over the place and even the birds in the trees have taken their tunes to a higher octave. It is a timely reminder to me that the practical work must begin. The rake, the hoe, the shovel must come out of winter storage. The soil needs to be aired and turned, plants must be inspected and firmed to the soil if loose after the winters wind. At this special time of year hope is beyond what we imagine because although spring always arrives it is always different, beautiful to the eye and heart and soothing to the soul. A great time to be alive and enjoy its beauty and promise. Enjoy spring time and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Friday smile.

The sound of calves in springtime noisily waiting for their morning and evening milk is a joy for me and brings back all the memories from my childhood to now. It will take time for these babies to settle into their new home but they have every comfort and feed to help them establish a happy life on the farm. We know animals instinctively know this world better than we will ever do. Animals from deep within their silence always seem to know who and where they are.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Well, it is a very busy morning here this morning with another batch of young calves bought in Kilmallock mart last night. For the next two years or so we will get to know each other well and through the seasons of wind, light and rain in the midst of the golden meadows here on the farm we will work together with confidence and clear eyed stillness and love in the presence of animal being. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Thursday smile.

I love the pink and white contrast of heathers. Now they are young plants but they will grow and cover the bare ground in time and for one it is great to be able to do a little work. After my knee replacement I'm taking it easy and one day at a time.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Earlier this morning I planted up some heathers I purchased yesterday. I love the pink and white contrast of heathers. Now they are young plants but they will grow and cover the bare ground in time and for one it is great to be able to do a little work. After my knee replacement I'm taking it easy and one day at a time. It is a great blessing to be able to work. It enables our soul to light up our heart with love and warmth. Work, I find, releases a well-spring of refreshment, inspiration and excitement. My wish for today for all people is that their work will console, heal and renew them and so continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Wednesday smile.

No higher destiny is possible than to live our own lives, be in our time and take up our own space and be who we were meant to be here on Mother Earth's platform. The point of life is not to succeed. The point of life is to die trying.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Last evening I had the honour of reading Poetry and Praise written by a great neighbour and friend for years, a very learned man who passed away to his reward recently. I know he has reached his destiny in heaven and one of his writings that I read last night was about "destiny". No higher destiny is possible than  to live our own lives, be in our time and take up our own space and be who we were meant to be here on Mother Earth's platform. The point of life is not to succeed. The point of life is to die trying. Thank you Martin. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Tuesday smile.

I believe the glory of the open flower is beyond all telling, love, joy, peace in rich abundance. Share all these beautiful gifts and they will bring happiness to our own lives and the lives of others and see wonders unfold.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Earlier this morning I was inspecting one of my large rhododendrons which has not flowered yet. It seems to have gotten a burning from the west wind. All I see now is a host of buds and I am waiting for these beautiful pink flowers to burst forward. I  believe the glory of the open flower is beyond all telling, love, joy, peace in rich abundance. Share all these beautiful gifts and they will bring happiness to our own lives and the lives of others and see wonders unfold. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Monday smile.

What I find is that time alone or time in silence can dissolve the distance between us and other people and between us and the whole outside universe. When we enter the desert of our hearth in that deepness the healing fountain begins to flow.

Good morning everyone and welcome to another peaceful, restful Sunday. In the silent intimacy of peace and solitude we discover our own uniqueness. In silence we can begin to hear the voice of our intuitive heart, a voice that is drowned out in the noise of everyday living. What I find is that time alone or time in silence can dissolve the distance between us and other people and between us and the whole outside universe. When we enter the desert of our hearts in that deepness the healing fountain begins to flow. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Sunday smile.

Sadness, joy or any other emotion is not really who we are so let's not define ourselves so narrowly. We are more than any other emotion at any time. All our feelings good or bad or in between will come and visit for a while then they leave. We will always be who we are deep down, essentially wonderful and as the sun belts down here this morning the music of the fluttering birds brings to mind the song "What a wonderful world".

Good morning everyone and welcome. This morning as I look out from my window of wonder I see my beautiful pink rhododendron looking a little sad as its blossoms are fading. It is saying  "tá bron orm" which translates to "sadness is upon me" as I am leaving for another while but I will be back again brighter and better next year. It is a wonderful reminder to me that we are more than our feelings. Sadness, joy or any other emotion is not really who we are so lets not define ourselves so narrowly. We are more than any other emotion at any time. All our feelings good or bad or in between will come and visit for a while then they leave. I love trees and over my lifetime I have planted many and some that I sit beneath to draw health and inspiration from. I call it the "wood wide web". Trees are excellent companions and give off energy to us if we are aware enough and of course they keep us alive with our daily supply of oxygen. For today my wish for all is to let the breathing trees refresh all our lungs, our hearts and our souls and remind us we are all children of Mother Earth.

Good morning everyone and welcome. At the present time I am looking up a few rare tree types that I can plant before spring, something unusual and very beautiful with colour and perfume. When we all return to our farms we know the feel of Mother Earth breaking beneath us and trying to balance us. It is also a great reminder to me to learn to walk upon this earth with confidence and clear eyed stillness that our animals possess naturally. So today my prayer is to let us all bless the imagination of Mother Earth and her animals and thank her for our dream filled hearts.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Well, The Mindful Farmer paid one of his regular visits to Kilmallock Mart last night and as always it was an enjoyable encounter for many reasons. Most farmers will chat with you as you inspect the animals, where are you from? What are you buying or selling? At the moment I am on crutches as many more at the mart were and last night in particular before the sale it was like being in the surgeons waiting room waiting for a consultation, all offering their experiences, their problems etc. It is also a great social occasion for farmers, many who live alone. We also have in common a love for the land, a love of animals and a love of nature. I believe when you give plants, flowers, trees or anything of beauty to someone else as a gift you are giving part of you as a beautiful inspiration to the recipient. We all know that something deep in the human soul seems to depend on the presence of kindness. When someone is kind to you, you feel understood and seen.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Yesterday I visited one of my favourite garden centres and I purchased a very unique plant for a very good friend who was so kind to me recently. Flowers and plants bring me very close to nature and its beauty. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1435

In the end the big message was being respectful and staying in the now. There is always something deep in the human soul that seems to depend on the presence of kindness and respect and something deep from within us expects it. Once we sense that then we are able to trust and open and express our body language freely, as it should be.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Over the weekend I attended a get together in a local art centre where the topic was "body expressions". There was a small group in attendance, about 20 people, with a very international flavour. There were seven countries represented. It was quite interesting what people had to say and observe and I learned a lot about the subject. It certainly taught me to be more conscious about my body language, when I feel anxious, excited, angry and also tells us much about our personality traits whether we are shy or outgoing, eye contact, hand shake and of course then there are cultural differences. In the end the big message was being respectful and staying in the now. There is always something deep in the human soul that seems to depend on the presence of kindness and respect and something deep from within us expects it. Times of great joy, great happiness and some sadness but that's life. People lost, people gained, but overall I feel very grateful that I was allowed to live a life by faith and not by sight. We all have incredible power when we direct our intention towards life and our future.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Earlier this morning I retraced my steps of my Garda beat when I was a very young policeman stationed in Dublin city centre. I really enjoyed the trip. It brought back my memories, many great experiences and these steps from 1975 to today 17th February 2024, nearly 50 years, is a lot to take in and I am very grateful for what these years of steps have taught me. Times of great joy, great happiness and some sadness but that's life. People lost, people gained, but overall I feel very grateful that I was allowed to live a life by faith and not by sight. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1432

Very often our wounds and our healing take us to places of better understanding into deep places of change, to places of purification and repentance and in these places we open up ways to recover with greater wholesomeness. Pain is life. The sharper the pain, the more real the life, the more appreciation and evidence of life.

Good morning everyone and welcome. The Mindful Farmer was a little out of his depth last night. We were at a show in Dublin, Sister Act, in the Bord Gais theatre. It was difficult to get there with parking ect. It was difficult to negotiate all the steps with a huge crowd and it was difficult to concentrate with people in and out and up and down and me with my crutches taking an age each time to stand up and sit down. I was very impressed with the magnificence of the theatre, its layout and size, the lighting etc. and the show was very impressive to compensate for the little annoyances. Very often our wounds and our healing take us to places of better understanding into deep places of change, to places of purification and repentance and in these places we open up ways to recover with greater wholesomeness. Pain is life. The sharper the pain, the more real the life, the more appreciation and evidence of life. This morning at breakfast we had people from all over the world, Europe, America, Canada, U.K and Ireland. What a wonderful group of interesting people all doing business from a base in Ireland. After much discussion it was agreed that people really make for a wonderful world if they work together with respect and in peace.

Good morning everyone and welcome. This morning at breakfast we had people from all over the world, Europe, America, Canada, U.K and Ireland. What a wonderful group of interesting people all doing business from a base in Ireland. After much discussion it was agreed that people really make for a wonderful world if they work together with respect and in peace. Then my thoughts immediately turned to the people that are war torn and living in fear every moment of their lives so my prayers today will be focusing on those who are suffering violence and that unexpected peace and serenity will soon visit them. We have a duty not to forget them. So, for today and every other day include these people in our prayers and send blessings to them and power healing, peace and love in their direction.

St. Valentine was a person committed to doing good and his legacy has stood the test of time giving us all an opportunity to free our hearts, a time for letting all intentions and worries stop, a time to free the joy that is inside us all and the wonder of our life awaken and soar free.

Good morning everyone and welcome to a Ballinwillin St. Valentine's Day. Today is a well known day for love, friendship and admiration. This day is named after St. Valentine, a Catholic priest who lived in Rome in the 3rd century. During this era the emperor Claudus II ruled Rome. He was a pagan emperor and he created strict laws preventing his soldiers from marrying but Valentine began to marry the soldiers in secret but was found out and jailed for his crimes. When in jail he cared for many of his fellow prisoners and for his jailor's blind daughter. Before being executed he wrote her a love message signed from your Valentine. He was executed on the 14th February 270. He was a person committed to doing good and his legacy has stood the test of time giving us all an opportunity to free our hearts, a time for letting all intentions and worries stop, a time to free the joy that is inside us all and the wonder of our life awaken and soar free. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your St. Valentine's Day smile.

Places such as this give us time and space and a time to reflect, a time to come home to oneself. There are times in our lives when we need to let our soul love at will and to let our skin glow, to let our eyes gleam and then the promise of the world of nature and of heaven ripen. Think only of the joy that can awaken in us all. It is there for us all in our special place.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1427

Mostly for me on Sunday evenings I would sit or walk by the river in peace and solitude. I always found that there was something unique about this place and something beautiful was always happening to me and that I had a special destiny here and it enabled me to see myself with the same delight, pride and expectation that God sees me in every moment.

Good morning everyone and welcome. I really like Sundays and I think it goes back to my childhood. Early on Sundays there was the morning work, milking the cows and feeding all the other animals then a big clean up and getting all dressed up for mass. After mass Dad would cook a feast of breakfast and all the week's events would be discussed in detail not to mention who was at mass and what they wore. Yes, all this went on in our small community. After breakfast we were free to do what we wished for the day. It could be a hurling match or walking or cycling. Mostly for me on Sunday evenings I would sit or walk by the river in peace and solitude. I always found that there was something unique about this place and something beautiful was always happening to me and that I had a special destiny here and it enabled me to see myself with the same delight, pride and expectation that God sees me in every moment. Sundays are special days for revealing to us who we really are. It is up to us to live that life to the fullest. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Sunday smile.
