The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 821

Good morning everyone and welcome to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. It is that time of year again, the hay saving season. We cut approximately thirty acres of hay today and now begins the huge job of saving it, especially as we get a lot of rain in our little country. We always get good weather when we cut it and please God this year will be no different. It is a very nostalgic time for me as I visualise the days of my youth out in the meadows with my parents, the whole family, the neighbours, as we all worked together to ensure a good harvest was had by all in the farming community. But now it is just me and Chris in the fields with the tractor. My oh my how things have changed. Our times are desperate for meaning and belonging so I am going to bring my grandchildren into the fields tomorrow to experience the wonder of the hay making season and hopefully when they dream at night they will have memories of the sweet and fragrant grasses of the year 2022. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Wednesday smile.
