The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 586

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. As I look out my window of wonder on this beautiful Friday morning I am thinking about a conversation I had yesterday with an amazing man. He is in his late 70's, had a great life up to his 40's. His business ran into trouble, the banks sold all his assets and home, he separated from his wife, family in disarray and he hit the drink for comfort. He became homeless by 50 and spent 5 years wandering the country and streets until a friend recognised him. This friend gave him shelter, helped him beat the booze, he went back to college to study law and is now practicing and is very happy, reunited with his wife and family. He said to me that it is impossible for people who have good lives and are in control to suddenly lose control and lose everything. The lesson for us all and I often quote it "but for the grace of God there go I". When we come in close contact with people in pain they can tell us the truth, they can lead us to compassion, patience, kindness and they can call us to be our true selves. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and health to all who need it and wear your Friday smile.
