The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 247

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our new lock down. This morning when I was out feeding my deer, an adult female (hind) pushed her nose into my side and then into the pouch in my coat pocket. I was preparing to serve her and the others their breakfast, but not quickly enough she thought obviously. She was giving me a clear message. First that she trusted me and we were friends but also that I needed to hurry up. With situations like this on the farm it is important to notice and be alert to the beauty with us and around us. It is important to witness and feel the magic of nature, its animals. We must be fully alive otherwise synicism can replace our sense of surprise and Mother Nature would not forgive us because she has given us eyes to see, saying “come see me”, ears to hear “come hear me” and then let your soul live. Continue to pray, bless and send healing to all and wear your smile.
