The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

With birth and life we must foster and nurture the body, the child, the teenager, the adult and into old age. When we do so we can measure the health and well being of situations and people according to their faith, hope, love and harmony with nature.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Happy Easter to you all and here is wishing you all a happy, mindful and peaceful Easter Sunday. It is this time of year that we celebrate the rebirth of Christ. The resurrection and birth is always a celebratory factor in all countries all over the world. With birth and life we must foster and nurture the body, the child, the teenager, the adult and into old age. When we do so we can measure the health and well being of situations and people according to their faith, hope, love and harmony with nature. On this Easter Sunday go for a walk in nature and let her air penetrate your mind and body. It will energise you, give you the light to spark your pleasure, it will sprinkle your imagination with the morning dew of hope. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Sunday best smile.

May all the angels of Easter gather around us and take us to territories of otherness where all that is good in us will fall back into rhythm of our true and genuine nature in the temple of the holy spirit.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. A beautiful full moon here last night and a fabulous red/pink sunset illuminating the proud Galtee mountains. This weekend every year I always feel prayerful, happy and close to God and this weekend. I am pounding the heavens with prayers for a very special and serious family request so I need all your help out there for the next few weeks at least. May all the angels of Easter gather around us and take us to territories of otherness where all that is good in us will fall back into rhythm of our true and genuine nature in the temple of the holy spirit. Continue to pray for all who need it and we do, send blessings, healing and power to us and may we all wear our misty eyes Easter smile.

How meaningful it is to have good and true friends and of course it works both ways. Time spans over friendship as we journey to that space where our soul is but what matters is that there is love and warmth deep in our hearts.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. We had a beautiful surprise here last night. A man called "masterchef Liam" and his beautiful Hanora paid us a visit. John cooked up a beautiful impromptu meal and we chatted for hours. It was just like old times. I have known this man for thirty years, a loyal and faithful friend, wonderful chef and an amazing person. How meaningful it is to have good and true friends and of course it works both ways. Time spans over friendship as we journey to that space where our soul is but what matters is that there is love and warmth deep in our hearts. This does change us and makes us stronger and removes the cold from around our heart. We must treasure our friends, be kind and good to them and be there for them in times good and bad. May we never be isolated and always know the embrace of our anam chara "the friend of our soul." Thank you Liam and Hanora. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Friday smile.

There are certainly hints of heaven here this morning, shimmering sunshine awakens my heart, quietly reminding me that I am a child of this earth and brilliant light, birds fluttering and singing all around me and they seem comfortable with my lofty presence, the flowing shrubs and trees proudly present radiant foliage and petals, the scene is amazing if not intoxicating.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. What a beautiful morning here at Ballinwillin House and I am up in the sky again with my new bestie "the hoist". It is all a very special time and I feel richly blessed as I work hand and hand with God in my daily routine. I feel my work assumes a proper space in my life and it will bring each day further into the wonder of my heart.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Another beautiful sunny day here and the work is progressing very well on the roof of the main house. It is very pleasurable to work with the sun on your back, When your work is focused on for a particular time and you are away from phone contact and human contact I call it a quiet day, one has time to think, be grateful, be happy in one's own quiet company and it is a very important time for me spiritually also. In such circumstances while I work I pray, and meditate. It is all a very special time and I feel richly blessed as I work hand and hand with God in my daily routine. I feel my work assumes a proper space in my life and it will bring each day further into the wonder of my heart. Why was it special? While I was up in the sky overlooking the gardens I was awe struck by the beauty and shape of the gardens of mindfulness, meditation and forgiveness surrounded by the woodland cloaked thinking path. I was so happy and so thankful for this beauty

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. The Mindful Farmer had a very busy day yesterday. We received delivery of a hoist with 70 foot reach to repair chimneys and roofing at Ballinwillin House, a daunting task high up on the roof, wind and rain blowing but there was something special about the experience which will go on for at least one week. Why was it special? While I was up in the sky overlooking the gardens I was awe struck by the beauty and shape of the gardens of mindfulness, meditation and forgiveness surrounded by the woodland cloaked thinking path. I was so happy and so thankful for this beauty, then moving on to the roof of the house that is nearly 300 years old which we restored in 1985, Miriam and I were overtaken by the thoughts of all the great people who first built this beauty and all the previous owners who kept this gem alive. The feeling of joy was amazing. I believe the monks who sailed from France to live on the Tiarrocht, the Blasket Island out crop to write and pray believed that the higher up the rock they climbed, they believed the nearer to God and heaven they were. I certainly got this feeling yesterday and it is still with me today and I hope for the rest of the week and hopefully everlasting. It is our thoughts that determine who we are. Blessings certainly dwell here. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Tuesday smile.

What a great day it was to listen to his given wisdom as he sat there at his time of gracious harvesting what dignity, what clarity still and his sense of freedom to allow him become closer and at one with himself and who he was meant to be. He has clear vision for the eyes of his soul.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. The start of another week and the past one was a happy and fruitful one and I give thanks for that but yesterday I spent most of the day in the company of Grandad Jack, my father-in-law who is 103 years old. What a great day it was to listen to his given wisdom as he sat there at his time of gracious harvesting what dignity, what clarity still and his sense of freedom to allow him become closer and at one with himself and who he was meant to be. He has clear vision for the eyes of his soul. He has been blessed with a wonderful family, a wonderful life and his beautiful garden is a shrine to his complete love for nature now in the twilight of his years. He is still enjoying a sense of balance and poise complete in the spiritual process of homecoming. God bless you Jack and thanks for a great day out. Mother Nature enables these plants to flourish and ascend into blossom so let us all today give thanks and bless the invigoration of all around us and remind us all that we are all children of this beautiful earth, on this beautiful Sunday, the Lord's day of rest.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Another Sunday and a chance to show you some beautiful April, flowering shrubs and plants that give us joy and beauty every year, come what may. There lies the lesson for us all, we should show our beautiful side year in, year out also. A combination of nature and the divine flowing through our veins and into our hearts and outwards for the joy and help of all who need it. Mother Nature enables these plants to flourish and ascend into blossom so let us all today give thanks and bless the invigoration of all around us and remind us all that we are all children of this beautiful earth, on this beautiful Sunday, the Lord's day of rest. In this way we will find harmony between our heart, soul, mind and life and may there be kindness always in our gaze, no matter where we look.

Good evening everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. I am late coming to you today as it was a really busy day on the farm and in the gardens. Spring time is always a busy time anyway but it is so pleasurable to be outside with the sun shining on your back. Today, for most of the day, I had the able assistance of my little Grandson JJ. We kept each other company for all the work. He, asking questions about every action and me, trying my best to keep up with the answers. When the day's work was completed, I thought to myself how lucky I am to have the help of this little man, so innocent and beautiful as he held trustingly. Then, to complete the day, we had some rugby training on the lawn. We are all young at some stage. What a pity we can't keep this beautiful mindset for the rest of our lives. I believe that we should think back and move forward in childlike appreciation of our life, how we look at others, behave and gain the respect of our fellow man. Wouldn't it be a beautiful world? In this way we will find harmony between our heart, soul, mind and life and may there be kindness always in our gaze, no matter where we look. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Sunday smile.

Gradually and in time you will fly home to a new world that awaits you and your heart with a new discovery will brighten and slowly a new world will open up to your eyes when you can celebrate your new life for which you have sacrificed so much.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. This morning, The Mindful Farmer had the unenviable task of bringing our youngest daughter to the airport for her return to exile in Abu Dhabi. It is now an exile of her choice as she loves her teaching work there, nonetheless, for a parent, there is always sadness and worry when your child is away, so far from home and we pray for her safe return again later in the summer where her dream will always be home, where she will awaken to the music of the birdsong outside her window in the shadow of the beautiful magnolia tree. Once again your room will be ready to welcome you. Gradually and in time you will fly home to a new world that awaits you and your heart with a new discovery will brighten and slowly a new world will open up to your eyes when you can celebrate your new life for which you have sacrificed so much. Bye bye for now and fly in the bosom and protection of all your ancestral angels. Miss you baby. Meanwhile here at home we will send blessings your way and send healing, peace and hope to all who need it. It will be difficult for The Mindful Farmer to smile today - that's life!

Nature teaches us that nothing lasts forever but it gives us courage to seek new solutions to our difficulties. Nature also teaches us that when we turn to it we find a new light, a new hope.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. We had to make a big decision on the farm this morning and a sad one. One of our big, old, beech trees that must be nearly 300 years old has been diagnosed as being seriously decayed inside and is very dangerous. We have made the decision to order a special high hoist, an all terrain one, that will take us up 80 feet high and we can begin to limb it down carefully. We have had to do this before and it is a very sad prospect but we plant at least five more in its place. How many generations will see them grow? Nature teaches us that nothing lasts forever but it gives us courage to seek new solutions to our difficulties. Nature also teaches us that when we turn to it we find a new light, a new hope. It is spring time on the farm and we will find that new courage, new hope and new birth of the new beech trees. We don't get to choose what happens to us but we do get to choose how we respond.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Yesterday I had a long conversation with someone, a very good person who was recovering, or trying to recover, from a very serious betrayal by someone very close to them. I was in a quiet and understanding manner but experiences such as this awful one can, in time, be a great teacher. Healing, fulfilment and eventually freedom will come from our ability to choose our response to whatever life brings us. But it will be an every day practice. Freedom requires hope and hope allows us to live in the present and not in the past. We must never stop choosing love and hope. These are two wonderful gifts. No matter how great our suffering or the damages people try to inflict upon us it is always possible to break free. It is not easy but it is always worth doing and when we do so we realise that we all suffer in some shape or form during our lives but to become a victim is our own option. We don't get to choose what happens to us but we do get to choose how we respond. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your smile.

We have the ability to injure nature and so too does nature have the ability to injure us as we have seen in recent storms. Until such time as we protect every little thing in nature she cannot protect us.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Everything seems to be flourishing with growth on the farm and in the gardens. Leaves are beginning to burst open on the big, old beech and oak trees. You could say nature is beginning to go mad but we must be careful that we do not change everything. We have the ability to injure nature and so too does nature have the ability to injure us as we have seen in recent storms. Until such time as we protect every little thing in nature she cannot protect us. The best way to do this is early learning and show by example and to teach our children what has been taught to us that the earth is our mother and we know how to treat her. Let us bless the earth so that nothing is forgotten or lost. It is the reservoir to our future. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Tuesday smile.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Whether we notice it or not, Mondays and weeks come and go. Every day the sun rises and sets, the tides ebb and flow and the world goes on. If we take the time out and notice what is going on in our world we are filled with wonder. The wonder of our family surrounding us with love, the wonder of our place of work, our garden, our farm, our animals. It is all there as a series of sacred gifts woven around our hearts of wonder. Take a little time today and sit in silence to celebrate the quiet miracles in our life that seek no attention. When one is aware of this gentleness and fragrance we can also realise our own potential for gentleness, kindness and growth.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. We are experiencing some beautiful weather here on the farm at present. We have the sunny mornings, the soft winds, the sprinkling light rains that you can almost see the grass growing. In these early days of April the land has a unique smell, a smell you only get in April. When one is aware of this gentleness and fragrance we can also realise our own potential for gentleness, kindness and growth. When we feel ourselves as part of nature we will always live in harmony with nature and those around us. On this April Sunday let us all bless the imagination of this earth and let us remember within us our own clay form and awaken us so that we live life to the fullest and dream our dreams in full mind, spirit and light. What really works for me is when I sit in peace in the fields or gardens and allow the divine light to shine radiantly into my heart. In this situation peace will flourish and the weeds will shrivel away and a state of peace and happiness dwells within.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. I love my gardens and really enjoy my time wandering in the gardens both for my own pleasure and the pleasure of the visiting guests at Ballinwillin House. The gardens and the farm provide for most of our physical needs but our greater needs are on the spiritual side and our need for peace in our hearts. God has planted the seed for peace in our hearts but it is up to us to cultivate this seed. As well as having weeds in the garden and in the fields we also have weeds in the garden of our hearts. Weeds, like pride, worry, selfishness, unbelief, the need to pray and work hard with Gods help to rid our hearts of these weeds. What really works for me is when I sit in peace in the fields or gardens and allow the divine light to shine radiantly into my heart. In this situation peace will flourish and the weeds will shrivel away and a state of peace and happiness dwells within. There is incredible power in the mind when it directs its light towards an object.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Recently at a particular event someone I thought who cared for our family did something really hurtful. What do you do in a situation like this? Then I remembered the words of my father when things like this would happen to him. He would say "there is one thing that makes your mouth a lot faster than your brain and that is anger." He would then say to take a deep breath and as many as you can before you talk. Was this not our modern mindful advice? It certainly was. He would then say "know the truth but don't always speak it as it can result in unimaginable hurt to others." Great advice from the old man and it is funny now that I recall it and write it down. I am healing already and now I will send blessings, peace and hope to all who need it even to those who have hurt us. There is incredible power in the mind when it directs its light towards an object. Don't forget to wear your Friday smile.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. It is easy to stay in touch and close to nature and during silence we can listen to how the trees, shrubs, beautiful flowers and bulbs all grow and appear in silence and radiate beauty. If we lose touch with our source we are in danger of losing hope and if we lose hope all our principles fall down around us.
