The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1106

Every day the sun rises and sets, the tides ebb and flow and the world goes on. If we take the time out and notice what is going on in our world we are filled with wonder. The wonder of our family surrounding us with love, the wonder of our place of work, our garden, our farm, our animals. It is all there as a series of sacred gifts woven around our hearts of wonder. Take a little time today and sit in silence to celebrate the quiet miracles in our life that seek no attention.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Whether we notice it or not, Mondays and weeks come and go. It is the day to awaken to the mystery of being here and enter the quiet immensity of our own presence. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Monday smile,

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1105

I pray today that you will keep faith with your body and you will be granted the courage and peace to bring you through this dark time.

Good morning everyone and welcome to a beautiful sunny morning. The Mindful Farmer is today asking you all to pray for a great, great friend of mine who has fallen very ill. I have known this person for over 46 years, a great family man and a deep and great friend to our family over these years. Now a dark companion has arrived and come between us all and we feel so isolated and lonely. I pray today that you will keep faith with your body and you will be granted the courage and peace to bring you through this dark time. You have created much beauty and richness in your time and your presence has shone brightly on all of us. May God bless you my great friend and guard you and guide you through your illness. Continue to pray with me for this great person and send blessings and healings to him.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1104

If we trust in God, in the oceans and rivers of life we will always sail safely home.

Good morning and welcome to the view from The Mindful Farmers window of wonder on this blustery March morning. I am still waiting for the real spring. The soil is still too cold and wet and I know from observation the birds, the animals, the plants and trees haven't really gotten the spring message yet. Spring is a time of change, a time of openness to change. As life stirs in spring time, in the gardens, in the fields, the gardener and the farmer get to work. Also in our own lives our inner stirrings awaken us to our own potential for change and growth. When spring fully arrives it allows us to believe in a new future. Knowing that our lives can bring us all sorts of surprises as long as we are open and leave space for new things to emerge. If we trust in God, in the oceans and rivers of life we will always sail safely home. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Saturday smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1103

It is important that our eyes can see the beauty in this world of ours but oftentimes our hearts are too heavy to appreciate these gifts, our minds too darkened to decipher it.

Good morning and welcome. The Mindful Farmer is having a very relaxed start to his Friday and what really illuminated my Friday was the three smiling faces on that wall. The three smiling faces of our beautiful children. A beautiful large print that our great friend Elaine gave us as a present last Christmas. The morning sun was shining directly on it and playing games as if it was moving and changing. My thoughts began to make a change with the direction of light, true light, influenced by the weight of the shadow all over the room. A shadow of warmth and love as seen through my eyes this morning. It is important that our eyes can see the beauty in this world of ours but oftentimes our hearts are too heavy to appreciate these gifts, our minds too darkened to decipher it. The blessing in this gift we received and all our gifts will brighten up our minds and hearts and it is important when we look into the heart that our eyes will have the kindness and reverence of a mother, lover or friend. Have a mindful, thoughtful Friday today and wear three smiles today.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1102

The darkest winter always brings spring and may this dark grief flower in our springtime and into all our hearts and knowing that you will from now on in your invisible neighbourhood where all our ancestors dwell, you will behold us in ways you never could when you lived beside us here on earth. You now live near the source of destiny and your guidance and blessings are more accurate, penetrating and loving.

Good morning and welcome. A lot has happened in the last 10 days in our family life with the bereavement and loss of the leader of a family is a monumental event. It leaves a huge hole in the ocean of our lives and now we must face up to and deal with the loss, loneliness and all the feelings that grief awakens inside us. My own way of dealing with this grief is sitting in silence and waiting quietly which allows me to listen to my own depths and to hear Gods spirit there, yearning to bring me into a peaceful place, into discovering ourselves and what is important in life and who is important to us. At times this space and place of waiting can be heartbreaking but out of this darkness I know, I believe will come light. Now, sit and pray in silence.

We must never stop choosing love and hope. These are two wonderful gifts. No matter how great our suffering or the damages people try to inflict upon us it is always possible to break free.

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. Healing, fulfilment and eventually freedom will come from our ability to choose our response to whatever life brings us. But it will be an everyday practice. Freedom requires hope and hope allows us to live in the present and not in the past. We must never stop choosing love and hope. These are two wonderful gifts. No matter how great our suffering or the damages people try to inflict upon us it is always possible to break free. It is not easy but it is always worth doing and when we do so we realise that we all suffer in some shape or form during our lives but to become a victim is our own option. We don't get to choose what happens to us but we do get to choose how we respond. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your smile.

In time we will all be nourished with fruits from the earth and the farmers' hands. We as farmers are just custodians of this precious earth and we move with the rhythm of Mother Nature. She in turn will balance our minds, hearts and souls.

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. When you look at the welcoming faces of the beautiful animals here, everyone on the farm is delighted to be involved in their care. In times when there is a big push to urbanising the earth and building goes on everywhere it is encouraging to see farmers still holding their ground and keeping the intimate knowledge of the land and the clay alive. In time we will all be nourished with fruits from the earth and the farmers' hands. We as farmers are just custodians of this precious earth and we move with the rhythm of Mother Nature. She in turn will balance our minds, hearts and souls. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1096

When I refer to him as a great man I don’t say so lightly. He became a great friend as we got to know each other over the past 47 years. In his 105th year, his life crossed many decades, many life experiences, many cultural exchanges from war in our country to a much changed society now and yet he seemed to adapt seamlessly to all of these changes over his long life.

It has been a traumatic few days with the passing of Jack Hedigan, my father in law and Miriams dad. A great man, a great father, a great grandad and a great, great grandad and referred to as “The Boss” by the male members of the family, “Daddy” by the female members and “Grandad Jack” by the great grandchildren. He had many interests in life from fishing to golf, wood work, gardening but it was his devotion, love and protection for his wife Maureen and children that really stood out. He was a very healthy man and led an exemplary clean life but when you live into your 105th year the greying and fraying of life will impact on your journey on this avenue. I had the privilege of knowing and working side by side with this man, many chats and laughs and I believe that over the years our mutual love of farming and gardening really bonded us. During his final hours I had the privilege of sitting with him, holding his fragile hands talking to him about his life, where he came from, his beautiful garden that we worked together on. I named out many of his beautiful plants and trees and especially his camellias and rhodoendrons that he really loved and are in full bloom now but my really special moments were when I prayed with him the many prayers I recite myself daily and then I said my goodbye to my friend Jack and asked God to nurse him softly into the arms of Maureen and Carmel and his ancestors into the Carrigeen Gardens of heaven where you will be sheltered and your joyous welcome is assured. In this eternal garden you will find for each one you love a precious locket of jewelled fragrance of happiness and peace to be worn around the deserving hearts that will warm in your presence and protection. Farewell Jack AKA The Boss and forever dwell beside us, now on the other side of what we see. Goodbyes for those you love and admire are never easy but now you will behold us in a way you never could when you lived here on earth. You are now near the source of destiny and where your blessings, protection and guidance are accurate and penetrating offering a divine illumination not available in our physical and visible world. You will now clothe us in weave after weave of blessings as you always had a least two of everything for us all. Happy gardening my great, loyal and trusting friend and now know we are all safer down here. Anyway, I will be talking to you daily as I do to all my loving ancestors. Until the next time, warmest, warmest love, your Mindful Farmer son in law and always embraced son and as you said yourself recently to Miriam and I “that’s my Pat Mulcahy.”

When you are grateful, a radiant light shines on all circumstances. I remember every day what my late Mam used to say about the "sister sins complaining and criticizing".

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. I write and speak a lot about being thankful and having a thankful attitude and heart. It tempers all our thoughts and is a wonderful safeguard for your heart. A thankful heart is the window through which you perceive life. When you are grateful, a radiant light shines on all circumstances. I remember every day what my late Mam used to say about the "sister sins complaining and criticizing". There is no place in our real and spiritual world for the two above. Always cultivate a thankful and joyous heart. It does two things - it glorifies God and fills you with Joy. What a wonderful world we can make. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your smile.

I also find that these times help me to meditate more deeply where I can pray more deeply to find my peace and then pass on this peace, prayers and blessings to all who need it.

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. It is necessary to take time out for moments of rest and relaxation. When we engage creatively we deport from the fixed world of daily routine and grounded facts surrounding our lives. We enter into a world where something is not yet but might be on its way from the invisible. To form this type of excitement is what fuels me to write and lets my imagination trowel the crowded seas of white pages. The artistic life is vulnerable and often chaotic and overwhelming but when something true begins to emerge you experience the golden moments that redeems all the splintered times. I also find that these times help me to meditate more deeply where I can pray more deeply to find my peace and then pass on this peace, prayers and blessings to all who need it. Have a peaceful and mindful day and wear your Wednesday smile.

When we awaken in the morning the first thing to do is to give thanks then as we proceed throughout the day we must practice trusting and thanking God all along the way.

Good morning everyone and welcome. When we awaken in the morning the first thing to do is to give thanks then as we proceed throughout the day we must practice trusting and thanking God all along the way. Trust is the channel through which all peace flows and thankfulness lifts us all above our circumstances. For me on the farm and in the gardens it is perhaps easier to live in the now and in peace with a grateful and trusting heart but if we all do a little each day living by faith and not by sight we will all be much happier. Faith, love and hope are all in the waiting in that place where we will find harmony between our souls and our lives. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Tuesday smile.

My view on hope is that it is stubborn. It has the ability to accept the strengths and weaknesses in people and situations. It is not arrogant but it is not modest either. It can be daring, courageous, but most importantly it has the audacity to reach a hand into darkness and come out with a hand full of light.

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. My view on hope is that it is stubborn. It has the ability to accept the strengths and weaknesses in people and situations. It is not arrogant but it is not modest either. It can be daring, courageous, but most importantly it has the audacity to reach a hand into darkness and come out with a hand full of light. We must believe all will be well and then it will be well. Hope is not optimism. It is what we have when the bottom falls out of optimism. True hope is divine. It is the call to be what is not yet. It is the dream that arises each day with the voice of blessing whispering in your heart. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Monday smile.

I would like to dedicate my prayer and yours to the poor souls who consider themselves completely unloved. God gave his soul to us because He loved us. How can any of us be spiritually poor?

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre. Most of us are around family and friends who care about us and love us. One of Granduncle Jacks sayings was "how can you be poor if you are loved?" Some of us find love in spouses, family, pets. Kindness and love takes many shapes and many directions. So today, I would like to dedicate my prayer and yours to the poor souls who consider themselves completely unloved. God gave his soul to us because He loved us. How can any of us be spiritually poor? If you are spiritually loved and happy how can we be poor? The spirituality of us all, especially us country people, always seem to belong to a happier, more noble order. Our life is looked on as a creative source to God and man. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your Sunday best smile.

It is my duty to keep this intimate knowledge of the clay alive.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. The Mindful Farmer is off to the fields doing repair jobs to the fences and the gates, checking water troughs etc and getting all the animals ready to go into their fresh spring paddocks. It is a beautiful time every year. Everywhere and everything is fresh with excitement. It is the time of year that reminds me of my responsibilities to the land, to nature and that they are able to trust the warm and true intentions of my heart, my hand, making this farm and domain of shelter and nourishment for all to dwell and thrive in the imagination of springtime. It is my duty to keep this intimate knowledge of the clay alive. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace and hope to all who need it and wear your smile.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. It is another Friday and it is a cold one.  As I was walking in the garden I was admiring the magnificent magnolias, the magic of a flower, the magic of a wonderful tree from bare but to a ragingly wonderful forest of flame. Celebrate International Women's Day today and appreciate all the women in your life.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Today is International Women's Day. The world we live in today is a very different world now. If you look at weather patterns, storms are a regular occurrence now. The world is in turmoil and is a very needy place. Where do we go for shelter, sustenance and peace? We must shelter under the completeness of God and His holy mother. We must live in the light of their presence and then that light will shine brightly into the lives of others. From there all our courageous hearts will go forth and engage with life despite all the present confusion and fear. Forgiving hearts know the art of liberation. Celebrate International Women's Day today and appreciate all the women in your life. Continue to pray, bless, power healing and peace to all who need it and wear your Wednesday smile.
