The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1346

Words, writings, books, do many things for us. They can comfort you, they can upset you, they can excite you and even sing to you. Writings, poems, books, help us to understand who we are and more importantly how we are to behave. There is always an inner voice telling us to keep going. May every morning be astir with the harvest of the night.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Each day as I put pen to paper I think how important it is to document happenings, feelings, events etc. Isn't it a miracle that out of these rectangular pages a new world, a new experience is being expressed as world after world unfolds. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Wednesday smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1345

At the end of the night it was agreed that we all need to rediscover our careless courage with the simplicity of any little child whose innocence is not afraid to live with faith and by faith and less by sight with an open and beautiful heart.

Good morning everyone and welcome. In an engaging discussion last night in Connemara amongst friends our topic was "what happened to the lives we once had as options?" "where do they dwell?" The general view was that our unlived lives run parallel to our current lives and in some way continue to influence the choices we make. I can assure you that there were many other views also with deep meaning to each preceptor. At the end of the night it was agreed that we all need to rediscover our careless courage with the simplicity of any little child whose innocence is not afraid to live with faith and by faith and less by sight with an open and beautiful heart. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Tuesday smile.

Now when I look around I recognize and understand the humility of this place, this land as it transfigures all that has fallen of outlived growth and let us thank the earth and nature for all her new growth and let us grow with it.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Over the weekend we completed a very big and difficult job of pruning and felling large pine trees on our boundary. Trees contribute hugely to our life and living and when they grow too tall and dangerous and endanger human life we have to take action. So, with the help of Chris and John, we cut down two very large Leylandii trees and pruned back five Scott pines that were about 50 feet tall. We pruned them to about 25 feet tall and they can now re-vigor. Elsewhere at Carrick an Daimh I have planted ten trees to replace the two I cut down and will plant more. Now when I look around Carrick an Daimh I recognize and understand the humility of this place, this land as it transfigures all that has fallen of outlived growth and let us thank the earth and nature for all her new growth and let us grow with it. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Monday smile.

When we live the outdoor life as most farmers do it helps us to open not only our eyes and ears but also our hearts as citizens and good people of the world who are committed to making a difference. We are all capable of making that difference so continue to do so

Working outdoors on a regular basis can be harsh especially in the past few days in stormy conditions but many of us live most of our time indoors in offices or cars. Living inside makes it all too easy to live in our heads, inside our own little comfort zones. When we live the outdoor life as most farmers do it helps us to open not only our eyes and ears but also our hearts as citizens and good people of the world who are committed to making a difference. We are all capable of making that difference so continue to do so and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Sunday best smile.

The bare branches on the trees are dripping onto us as we are tidying up underneath. The trees and nature are getting ready for their winter rest reminding us also that we should take time out to rest and reflect in the peace of nature. The fullness of nature at any time of the year has real meaning and is a blessing from the soul.

Good morning everyone and welcome. It is a cold, wet and windy November morning. The bare branches on the trees are dripping onto us as we are tidying up underneath. None of us wants to experience suffering but it comes our way, but when it does it has its own way of breathing new life. If we can stay with it and find our true selves in it we will discover that we can grow through it to our full stature.

Good morning everyone and welcome. In the past few years personally I have endured a lot of pain and suffering and it is continuing but in a managed way and the months of November and December will be very defining months in my life. None of us wants to experience suffering but it comes our way, but when it does it has its own way of breathing new life. If we can stay with it and find our true selves in it we will discover that we can grow through it to our full stature. We will arrive in a place where you are now in and in the now from where you were not. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Friday smile.

The power of all our prayers will enable them to see beyond their sufferings and loss. The light of prayer and love is like a morning star which lives in the heart of everyone.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. The TV footage we are viewing from Gaza at present is horrific. Innocent people and children are suffering greatly on a daily basis. A short while ago these people were living in peace and now they live in a war zone and their members, many of whom are dead or seperated. We need to support these people by whatever means and especially pray. The power of all our prayers will enable them to see beyond their sufferings and loss. The light of prayer and love is like a morning star which lives in the heart of everyone. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Thursday smile.

The farmer will continue to hold true ground keeping the intimate knowledge of the clay alive to nourish the population with the fruits of the earth. The farmer will continue to serve as custodian of that precious threshold where the rhythm of nature with its serene pulse and sublime patience restores our minds.

Good morning everyone and welcome. The weather for the farmer is very trying at present, strong winds, wet land and the end of the grazing season. Animals need supplementary feeding, shelter and housing but the farmer is fully aware of his duties as this is a generational vocation, custodian of the land and farm animals. The farmer will continue to hold true ground keeping the intimate knowledge of the clay alive to nourish the population with the fruits of the earth. The farmer will continue to serve as custodian of that precious threshold where the rhythm of nature with its serene pulse and sublime patience restores our minds. Those half remembered moments of joy, or sadness, fear or disappointment are all merely beads of life strung together to make one expanding necklace of life's experiences. It is up to each one of us to pick our own special beads and make our own necklace or rosary beads of beauty to remind us of great times past, remembering at all times our guide, savour and God.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Last evening in a group of friends of similar age and all country people we all told stories from childhood to modern life and it was beautiful. Some wonderful healing memories. We only seem to do this when we have time and in peace. It is in these times between events that most of our lives are lived. Those half remembered moments of joy, or sadness, fear or disappointment are all merely beads of life strung together to make one expanding necklace of life's experiences. It is up to each one of us to pick our own special beads and make our own necklace or rosary beads of beauty to remind us of great times past. Remembering at all times our guide, savour and God. These wonderful memories of nature at various times of the year and their beauty allow me to heal me when I am in a sombre mood. On this past stormy Monday let a memory of nature heal us all no matter where we roam. Remembering that it takes very little and very little is needed to make a happy life.

Good morning everyone and welcome. This morning as I sit here there is quietness and peace after the night's storm. The wind is not howling and gusting anymore just blowing softly and the tall, wise, old trees are breathing a sigh of relief at least until the next storm, What really inspires me at this time of year are the autumnal colours of these surrounding trees and it is one of the memories I take with me no matter where I travel. These wonderful memories of nature at various times of the year and their beauty allow me to heal me when I am in a sombre mood. On this past stormy Monday let a memory of nature heal us all no matter where we roam. Remembering that it takes very little and very little is needed to make a happy life. To truly see something we need to look at it for a long time and then we must try and be the thing that we see, to get to know the three hundred year old oak tree and feel its power, to look deeply at the flowers until their colours become as real as a sound. We must break into all the silences of the surrounding nature and then and only then can we feel and be the peace they came from.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Sunday is always a day of rest and reflection. To sit in the garden, to feel the peace of the morning, to walk the fields and listen to the sounds of nature. To truly see something we need to look at it for a long time and then we must try and be the thing that we see, to get to know the three hundred year old oak tree and feel its power, to look deeply at the flowers until their colours become as real as a sound. When we honour nature we learn wisdom and it is wisdom that allows us to approach every rainy day of our own lives knowing that it has meaning and it holds within it new possibilities for us. Rain, water, the vehicle and idiom of the inner voyaging that keeps us all alive. Blessed be the rain, blessed be the water, our first mother.

As adults we need to recapture our childhood joy in whatever form or fashion we desire. Grand Uncle Jack used to say β€œhe who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is enlightened.”

Good morning everyone and welcome. Earlier this morning I viewed a whatsapp from my grandchildren in Australia. They were out on the beach, swimming, playing, all the usual seaside stuff and I thought the difference between children and adults is that they possess that freedom from the need to succeed at everything. We as adults on the other hand can be so frightened of failure that we are paralysed, unable to create anything for fear of looking foolish, As adults we need to recapture our childhood joy in whatever form or fashion we desire. Grand Uncle Jack used to say "he who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is enlightened." Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Tuesday smile.

The mother of this young person said "thank you for watching my face with happiness" and then she qualified it by saying that you ever heard a more beautiful description of crying? Now there is a thought for this day, this week, this month, this year. Let us wash the face of anyone who needs happiness in their life

Good morning everyone and welcome. It is not often that we hear of people recovering from cancer. Unfortunately there have been a few that were very personal to me over the past 12 months and one case just over the weekend. The mother of this young person said "thank you for watching my face with happiness" and then she qualified it by saying that you ever heard a more beautiful description of crying? Now there is a thought for this day, this week, this month, this year. Let us wash the face of anyone who needs happiness in their life and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Monday smile.

Yes it is possible to be content in every situation when we place all our trust in God who is with us and watching over us wherever we go and whatever we do. He, after all, has given us the gift of the world as our very first blessing full of warmth and protection.

Good morning everyone and welcome to another peaceful Sunday here at Ballinwillin House. There is a lovely happy feeling here this morning and yet people find it difficult to find peace as their circumstances determine the quality of their life and put maybe too much energy into trying to control their own lives. Yes, that is fine when things are going well. What happens when things are not going so well? We must always question the correlation between circumstances and feelings. Yes it is possible to be content in every situation when we place all our trust in God who is with us and watching over us wherever we go and whatever we do. He, after all, has given us the gift of the world as our very first blessing full of warmth and protection. Dying leaves can make us forget the joy they gave us when they were fresh and green. Let us continue to pray today for all those who we love dearly and have passed

Good morning everyone and welcome. I have just received the very sad news of the passing of another deep and great friend. Tim, a son of West Limerick will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family. I knew him for 50 years as a friend, mentor and supporter of me, Miriam and my family. We regularly discussed hurling and he would encourage me to go to the Limerick senior club games and report back to him as he now lived in Wicklow. The chats were always incisive and interesting. Tim was a great judge of people in life and he understood the broader meaning of life, friendship and family values. My telephone link to Tim is now gone but I will have a direct line to him and will be in constant dialogue. Farewell my great and deep friend and thank you for helping me be who I am today and where I am today. Dying leaves can make us forget the joy they gave us when they were fresh and green. Let us continue to pray today for all those who we love dearly and have passed and power healing, peace, hope and love to you all.
