The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 291

Good morning and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on the first day into our newest  and third level 5 lock down. It is Thursday the 31st December and the last day of a very tough and trying year for the people of Ireland and all over the world. There is much in the future and in the present we cannot see or understand but that doesn’t matter much to us if we have purpose in our lives. If we are happy and content this state will lead to balance in our human life and not allow us drift through life. It will lead us through a path to peace and happiness and as this year draws to an end we give thanks for the gifts it has brought and how they become part of us where neither time nor tide can touch them. The surprises that 2020 brought us we never could have expected as if they were hidden in the forgotten corners of our fields for decades and now they pierce our every sore with salt. From these darkened corners, secret sorrows poured like the river behind our house. My hope and prayers now is for the secret, streaming sorrows of 2020 be buried and loosened in the stream never to return. And now on this eve of something great and new, we bless this year for all it has taught us. Also for all we have loved and lost and here’s praying it will bring us all together nearer to our invisible dream. Happy New Year from an optimistic and prayerful Mindful Farmer.

Patrick
