The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 346

It is another windy morning here at Ballinwillin House as I gaze out my window of wonder and I see a sign on the Thinking path "when it rains look for rainbows, when it's dark look for stars". No day is ever the same, thank God, no day stands still .Each day moves through a different territory awakening new beginnings. Every day moves forward in moments and once that moment flickers into life it vanishes and is replaced by the next.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 56 of our latest lock down. Therefore it is very important to live in the now and for the now and be thankful for all we have in this life and may all our thoughts be blessed with true and pure light. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 345

When I spend this time alone I realise that the shape of all our souls is unique and that we all have a special destiny here and behind the facade and falseness of everyday life that we will come to realise that there is something beautiful and eternal happening to all of us.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 55 of our latest lock down. This morning as I look out my window of wonder and as I am all alone I feel the silent intimacy of solitude. In silence we begin to hear the voice of our intuitive heart which is a voice we never hear in the noise and bustle of daily life and strife. What also comes to mind is that this time I spend alone and in silence can dissolve and shorten the distance between us, the outside world and the other people and even the whole universe. When I spend this time alone I realise that the shape of all our souls is unique and that we all have a special destiny here and behind the facade and falseness of everyday life that we will come to realise that there is something beautiful and eternal happening to all of us. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 344

When we truly notice things and take notice of their shape, smell, colour and form they can create resonant memories for us that we can carry with us to other occasions that are not so pleasant or hopeful. It is up to all of us to reach inside ourselves and find our own power sources. A courageous heart will go forth and engage with life despite confusion and fear. A forgiving heart has learnt the art of liberation.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 54 of our latest lock down. On this Monday morning as I gaze from my bedroom through my window of wonder I notice life in the plants and trees that wasn't there last week. They are preparing for growth and we can too if we allow silence and solitude nourish us which can prepare us for all types of adversity. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and a very special thanks to all of you out there for your messages of good wishes and health emails, mass cards, phone calls - it is very comforting and healing. Thank you and bless you all. Wear your smile from an emotional, mindful and grateful farmer

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 343

Today I hope to visit the garden. I don't have enough strength to work the fields yet but please God it will come. Today I am even more grateful for its gift than I ever was but a new day is not a gift we produce for ourselves. At daybreak a new light comes and a whole day is born and it is always different because of our reception of it. The daily routine may be the same as every other day - it is how we face it that makes all the difference.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 53 of our latest lock down. We all know that The Mindful Farmer always loves Sunday as it is a special day and a partial day of rest after a busy week on the farm but now that I have to slow down I am really looking to more days of rest where I can devote more valuable time to my family, great friends and even myself. Today is totally new and a totally new morning where we can feel the rush of light flow slowly into our hearts and may we all feel the colour and feel the stillness and calm of a new found world. Later today I hope to show you something amazing in my garden - watch this space. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

At times like this it really warms my heart and soul to think back on the precious time spent with my grandchildren planting these trees. It always amazes me how intrigued they were at such a young age to get their hands dirty and "help" plant everything. They were full of delight and enjoyed their spins in the wheelbarrow too.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 52 of our latest lock down. This morning as I gaze out my window of wonder I see my freshly planted orchard and I feel a great sense of happiness and warmth. At times like this it really warms my heart and soul to think back on the precious time spent with my grandchildren planting these trees. It always amazes me how intrigued they were at such a young age to get their hands dirty and "help" plant everything. They were full of delight and enjoyed their spins in the wheelbarrow too. It helps me to look back at these happy times while I am recuperating at home after my hospital stay. I always think that it is very important to acknowledge the tough times but not to dwell on them. Today as I lie here in my bed I look out my bedroom window and today I am looking at different mountains, the Galtee mountains, and I ponder on my dark invitation to my present illness. It was a frontier I was not expecting and suddenly my old life seems distant. I must start a new life and I pray I will be given the chance. Nothing before this has left me so isolated and lost. I know when the volcanic shock subsides in me my spirit will return to balance and create a space in my heart and will learn to embrace this illness as my teacher who has suddenly arrived to open up my life to a new world.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 51 of our latest lock down. Well The Mindful Farmer is back at home under strict medical conditions and medications. It is lovely to be back in your own bed but I must say that the team at Clonmel hospital were amazing. What particularly shone through was the kindness and sincerity. These people aren't trained this way. It is natural for them. What a wonderful vocation they all have. They will always be in my prayers. Hospital gives you the time to think beyond the ordinary and to think about life and lifes happenings but oftentimes our worst experiences in life can be our best teachers. Healing fulfillment and freedom comes from our ability to choose our response to whatever life brings us and in particular suffering. Freedom is a lifetime practice and the wonderful thing is that we get that choice again and again each day. True freedom comes from hope and hope for the future and an awareness that suffering, however severe, is only temporary and that we have the will and curiosity to discover what happens next.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome once more to my daily blog from my hospital bed on day 50 of our latest lock down. The sun is shining through my window of wonder as I gaze out over Clonmel town and follow on up to the top of the beautiful Commeragh mountains that are dotted with houses and distant farms. I notice no cattle or sheep on the land, the fields vary from very long rectangular to all shapes and sizes that are beautifully landscaped by the great art of the Lord almighty. Hospital gives you the time to think beyond the ordinary and to think about life and lifes happenings but oftentimes our worst experiences in life can be our best teachers. It's funny in a way, the consultant in charge of me remembered when he met me first. He said that most people coming into his care are suffering from mental, psychological, physiological, financial and above all human stress and asked me if this was my situation. I said yes. It is now 12 months into this pandemic and this pressure cooker in my case yesterday obviously blew and my chest reacted. Hopefully I can make a satisfactory recovery and return to my family and into their loving care.

The Mindful Farmer is coming to you from a hospital bed. I was taken away in an ambulance last evening as I collapsed first outside on the farm in among the deer and stag and thank God the stag didn't attack me as they naturally would. I then made my way to the house and collapsed again. The ambulance was called by my great friend and doctor, I call him Dr. Clint. The ambulance arrived and I was rushed away knowing nothing until I woke up in hospital in Clonmel. I had all kinds of tests up until about 3am and I was then taken to the private ward for observation.

Our music here this morning is dipping and melodious but with the help of you all and your prayer it will rise again. Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 46 of our latest lock down. Another Sunday and a very happy Valentines day to you all. Well, since this lock down began 336 days ago The Mindful Farmer and his family had been coping pretty well overall but in the last week a lot of pressure has been visited on us and from an unreasonable source. The entire family and team are upset and stressed and I ask you all out there to power prayer, blessings and healings to us and anyone else that needs it and as I look out my window of wonder on this wintry morning I see the fences, the trees and the little birds as they shiver and sing, each playing their part in the worlds greatest orchestra. Spirituality is not about turning inwards. On the contrary, living a truly spiritual life is about living in a world with the conviction that God is to be found in everyone and everything. This belief makes us engage with the world and with truly great spiritual comrades and may we be able to listen to the secret heartbeat and think only of the joy we can all awaken spiritually together.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 43 of our latest lock down. The amount of people who contact me regularly over spirituality is fast growing and there is a huge awareness out there. Spirituality is not about turning inwards. On the contrary, living a truly spiritual life is about living in a world with the conviction that God is to be found in everyone and everything. as I stand and watch in their midst I feel peace in the company and beauty of the animals being just who they are and together in this baltically cold winter morning at the foot of the Galtees we can feel the earth and the animals breathing together and my hope for this day and for all of you out there is that we will walk upon this earth with their morning breath of confidence and clear eyes stillness as we rest together in the path of the cold, chill wind as the emerging morning light sparkles on the snow. I walk around leaving behind a happy imprint on the morning surface.

Good evening everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 42 of our latest lock down. When I was out in the fields with the animals this morning I could see that they were feeling the cold as much as I was and they really crunched into their morning feed nearly knocking me over. It is very satisfying to be able to look after animals in this way and to put out an extra feed when it is extra cold you can sense their gratitude. Also, as I have said before, animals know this world in a way we never will and as I stand and watch in their midst I feel peace in the company and beauty of the animals being just who they are and together in this baltically cold winter morning at the foot of the Galtees we can feel the earth and the animals breathing together and my hope for this day and for all of you out there is that we will walk upon this earth with their morning breath of confidence and clear eyes stillness as we rest together in the path of the cold, chill wind as the emerging morning light sparkles on the snow. The earth speaks to me in magic but only to those who listen quietly and hear it. It's voice comes in bird song and tinsel branch against a red morning winters sky, the sound of the waterfall in the distance, the beautiful dusting of snow this morning falling softly to carpet the earth and the wind whistling through the narrow thinking path ruffling the feathers of the old evergreen trees.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 41 of our latest lock down. What does your heart hear? That is the question I asked myself this morning during silent meditation. The earth speaks to me in magic but only to those who listen quietly and hear it. It's voice comes in bird song and tinsel branch against a red morning winters sky, the sound of the waterfall in the distance, the beautiful dusting of snow this morning falling softly to carpet the earth and the wind whistling through the narrow thinking path ruffling the feathers of the old evergreen trees .The earth's whispers are everywhere every morning but only those of us who have dreamt with the earth can hear them. No soul can sing out loud, no heart can beat purringly unless through earth's beauty and loveliness. Take a little time this morning to smell the earth and continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

There is much talk about spiritual energy and The Mindful Farmer refers to it regularly and really feels it at the moment and the reason I believe this is happening is that it is available to all of us if we tap into it and the fact that it is in the media as a topical issue now it is just waiting for us all to respond. This energy is released to us if we take the time and we are mindful, being mindful of the gift of a new day or a good breakfast or the great outdoors of our work and so on. Mindfulness energy, receiving and giving, is a continuous every day state of mind.

What I find a great energizer is at the days end to do a little diary of the days happenings and this I find gives me great energy for the next day. All of this is guided by the spirituality all around us, our minders, our advisors and guardians are always there for us just give them the welcome to join in, the invitation to guide us through each day and inspire us. These inner friends of the heart shelter us every day without us knowing it and allow us to cross frontiers we could never endure without them. From childhood I have always relied heavily on the spirituality of my ancestors and I speak and pray to them daily on my Thinking Path and on the farm. They are my advisors and guardians and I firmly believe that we are all planned and dreamed about long before we are born. It is wonderful to hear of prayer and the power of prayer. It is of great benefit to people and a wonderful source of inner healing.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 39 of our latest lock down. I was really impressed with Marie Louise O’Donnell on the Brendan O'Connor show recently and I was delighted with their views on ancestry and prayer. Up to this pandemic the world only talked about technology and new found wealth but in the midst of all this so called social progress there is a huge emptiness and loneliness in us all. We are all experts on all issues, acquired goods and possessions we don’t even want but worst of all we have unlearned the grace of belonging and presence. All this has led to the demise of prayer and time for prayer and people are stranded on the shore of emptiness and doubt. Gone are our rituals of community and family. We are a proud, warm Celtic people who crave rituals and celebrations, it is time to return to prayer and become more than we have been and allow all that is false to fall away. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

Peace of mind is achieved not by filling in the gaps or correcting the flaws in our personality but by understanding these flaws in our own personalities and accepting them as part of our reality. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 327

When I walk in the gardens in the mornings and then in the fields I say to myself I have much to be grateful for and all that I have and all that I have achieved but even with all this sometimes there is a vacuum in all our lives and we search for something to fill it. Oftentimes what is missing is right there inside and if we rectify in time, see it in time, we can return to who we really are.

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 37 of our latest lock down. What stops this? In our work at the present time there is a lot of stress with little or no business but yesterday it seems to have come to a climax when The Mindful Farmer and his super team were subjected to what I call only systematic bullying from a veterinary official but thank God when I spoke with her supervisor I found a person who dealt with me in a kind, compassionate and helpful manner. A person who is true to himself and his vocation. Little does this lovely man know what he really achieved yesterday and I thank God for him and his understanding - he really understood where the shoe was hurting. Isn't it a great pity that more people in authority are not aware of the hurt that is out there at the present time. My wish and prayer for today is that they become attuned and truly awake to what can be a beautiful world and that the day only dawns if we are truly awake and respectful to mankind. Keep up the prayers and send blessings and healings to all who need it from a wounded Mindful Farmer and team - we will continue to smile.
