The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 926

Blessings were always central to every day life from morning to nights and when I think of it now, this was mindfulness. It worked very well back then and it can work now.

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Mindful Farmers window of wonder today. Today when I look back during meditation about my life in the countryside in West Limerick and I often dwell on this side of my life when in deep meditation and in prayer and what always comes to my mind is the deep spirituality of country people seems always to issue from a deep sense of belonging to a deeper, more ultimate order, My parents, my relatives, the small communities, saw life as an act of creative service. Blessings were always central to every day life from morning to nights and when I think of it now, this was mindfulness. It worked very well back then and it can work now. Blessings were an acceptance of life, the gifts in and of life that need not have come our way. Above the spirituality of the rural mind did not see life as time, as routine, it was viewed more precious and had to be lived by faith and not by sight. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Wednesday smile.

We will feel this in all our hearts and in turn the mind will be at peace and peaceful minds, I believe, can rule the world.

Good evening everyone and welcome to day 3 of The Mindful Farmers RetrEat. As I sit here in the midst of nature in peace and tranquility I trust that my deep praying will ripple wide for all in need. Nature inspires the mind to delve deeply into the minds in need and all nature is a dynamic well of life. If we damage our natural environment then we are responsible for damaging humanity. It is an irrepressible link. At times we can all be unaware of this connection, perhaps through carelessness or neglect but it is what we do in our little garden that can have huge effects all over the world. We will feel this in all our hearts and in turn the mind will be at peace and peaceful minds, I believe, can rule the world. We must remember that what happens on earth, happens to our families, our sons and daughters. So, for today, let us all bless the imagination and knowledge of our earth and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Tuesday smile.

Here I feel grace and beauty fall with me yet reminding me that I came here in a wild form that respects Mother Nature in her wild form but for now at one in peace together.

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Mindful Farmers day 2 of RetrEat. When the sun is shining high in the sky my parents would say that it is the force of God shining all good things on us and in particular, His love. The silence I am experiencing here I feel, opens up all spaces that it can fill in love and peace. In this quiet time I let myself fall into a deep ocean rhythm as I listen to the waves with definite and relentless purpose. Here I feel grace and beauty fall with me yet reminding me that I came here in a wild form that respects Mother Nature in her wild form but for now at one in peace together. These are some peace thoughts and I wish you all peace today and every day. Continue to bless each other and send healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Monday smile.

My time spent in meditation has become one of my favourite times of the day. It is a time to be at peace and to experience gratitude. It is my time of freedom from day to day stresses and worries of life.

Good evening everyone and welcome to day 1 of The Mindful Farmers peace retreat. This is a 3 day programme of living in peace and tranquility with regular meditations and prayer sessions. Meditation is a gift we can give to each other every day. My time spent in meditation has become one of my favourite times of the day. It is a time to be at peace and to experience gratitude. It is my time of freedom from day to day stresses and worries of life. This time, this period that I take to live in purposeful silence and pray deeply I find very refreshing and healing and I use this healing power to heal and help the people that come to me for help and my thoughts and prayers are always with our tormented brothers and sisters all over the world who do not enjoy the privileged peace and all that is strained in the world will come to ease and may an unexpected serenity surprise all of us. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Sunday best smile.

It is in that meditation that prayer can be most powerful and listened to. It is in this meditation that I can be a lantern to myself and to others and a refuge also.

Good evening everyone and welcome once more to The Mindful Farmers window of wonder. For the next few days The Mindful Farmer will be in RetrEat in peace, silence and meditation. It is something I like to do each year but during Covid it was not possible in this secluded location. When we stay in silence and in solitude we find our inner peace and move away from struggle, agitation and outside noise. When we sit in peace we learn from everything and everyone. It is in that meditation that prayer can be most powerful and listened to. It is in this meditation that I can be a lantern to myself and to others and a refuge also. When in peace I can draw close to the light within myself and seek no other shelter but can be a rock like shelter built from others that I pray for and care for. Peace can be pure knowledge and gives us the wisdom to know we are human beings and enables us to love others. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Saturday smile.

Grandad Jack used to say that "Friendship was like a beautiful rose in the garden and I know what that means now to have a beautiful rose. It requires a lot of attention and so does friendship and beware of the thorns. They are just there to remind you to take care of them

Good afternoon everyone and welcome once more to The Mindful Farmers daily exploits .Today was spent catching up with some old friends who I haven't met for a while and now live outside Ireland and in retirement. Friendship has deep roots in every heart and it is a deep root in my heart and I am very thankful that I have friends who feel the same. Grandad Jack used to say that "Friendship was like a beautiful rose in the garden and I know what that means now to have a beautiful rose. It requires a lot of attention and so does friendship and beware of the thorns. They are just there to remind you to take care of them and your friends so there are many things to think of in the garden but today we are celebrating our friends. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Friday smile.

I am grateful for this and very happy that the fruits of nature are being honoured in such a dignified and wonderful way.

Good evening everyone and welcome once more to the exploits of The Mindful Farmer today. I have visited many artisan farmers across the north of Spain, producing wine, olives and meats of all sorts and isn't it a wonderful thing to see ordinary people, "small artisan producers" rearing families and producing wonderful food in such a natural way. It gives me great joy to see and gives me great hope for the future. I know we do it in Ireland but it is great to see similar people across Europe doing likewise. I am grateful for this and very happy that the fruits of nature are being honoured in such a dignified and wonderful way. As I drive along I think, meditate and pray for everyone I see, think of and talk to and I will continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and don't forget to wear your Thursday smile.

It is wonderful to see such an array of small food and wine producers as I witnessed today in Northern Spain.

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Mindful Farmers exploits of the day. It is wonderful to see such an array of small food and wine producers as I witnessed today in the Riaja region of Northern Spain. In many of the premises I visited there was an array of wine, cheese, fish and cold meats and egg all displayed together inside and outside without refrigeration and queues of people waiting to be served. I have seen this in France, Italy and Hungary also and God bless the understanding of the authorities in these countries and God help all the small producers across Ireland in the same EU that are being forced out of business by some local authorities who abuse their power. All during this visit I am being very mindful of the wonderful people across the EU who produce amazing produce. The Mindful Farmer is in a bit of a struggle to understand. So now I am praying, blessing and sending healing, peace, hope, love and understanding to all who need it. Don't forget to wear your smile no matter what.

Greatness is in prayer and it is there for us all.

Good evening everyone and welcome once more to The Mindful Farmers tour of France and North Spain. Today I spent some more time in Lourdes in prayer and meditation. When there, what occurred to me was this saying "greatness is in prayer". This beautiful feeling came to me and I wrote it down as I felt great and not just for me but for all that I had prayed for and thought about in this Holy place. That is all that I want to say for today. I am so full of peace and happiness and just remember this saying "Greatness is in prayer" and it is there for us all. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Tuesday smile.

When one visits such a profound and Holy place something very deep in the human soul comes to life and prayer just flows.

Good morning everyone and welcome to The Mindful Farmers exploits of the day. Well, I left Cognac early this morning and travelled to the Lynch Begs vineyard in *** in Bordeaux. I always like visiting here because my great friend John Lynch of Tir an Flua the islands golf club in Connemara states that the families on this vineyard. Thomas Lynch was a direct relation of his. From there I travelled onto Lourdes and this was a wonderful experience as always. It is a place of great peace and healing and I really embraced the experience and I prayed for family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues. I was in full flow sending peace, healing, hope and love to all who need it. When one visits such a profound and Holy place something very deep in the human soul comes to life and prayer just flows. I always feel that when someone prays for me or my family I feel understood and seen. So today from Lourdes in the south of France I hope I included you all. Water does what words would love to do. Keeping its appearance and then disappearing, seldom pushing or straining but always having the courage to continue believing, flowing crystal clear and free.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to The Mindful Farmers tour of vineyards beginning in Cognac in the south of France. In 1624 a distillery was established here in Cognac on the beautiful shores of the Charante river. It is 250 years since Richard Hennessy from Co. Cork founded the work and the famous Cognac house that still bares his name. The Hennessy family came from Killavulen, Co. Cork and still own Ballymacmoy house there. The drink itself is known in France as "Eaux de vie", "water of life". When I was a young lad growing up in West Limerick we had a well at the bottom of the field that gave us life for many reasons. Fresh water for the house, water to cool the milk and served as a fridge also. Now at Ballinwillin we have our own fresh, organic water from deep beneath the earth and now as I sit here in Cognac I say to myself lets bless the grace and power of all water. Water does what words would love to do. Keeping its appearance and then disappearing, seldom pushing or straining but always having the courage to continue believing, flowing crystal clear and free. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Sunday smile.

“to remember the moments and people in your life, present them to the world ‘dressed’ in their very best clothes”

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. During meditation this morning I was focusing on a very beautiful rose that was "well dressed" and I thought of more wise words from my Granduncle Jack as he spoke about people, people of all kinds that we meet in this world. He said "to remember the moments and the people in your life, present them to the world 'dressed' in their very best clothes". Isn't that a wise thought for today and a refreshing one. I see love all around me, I see delight all around me and I feel very blessed as I feel the radiance of God shining down on me and giving me peace. That is why I am The Peace Coach and I feel duty bound to pass this peace on to everyone that I come into contact with

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to The Mindful Farmers window of wonder. This morning as I sit on my peace seat I see what many people ask me about. I see love all around me, I see delight all around me and I feel very blessed as I feel the radiance of God shining down on me and giving me peace. That is why I am The Peace Coach and I feel duty bound to pass this peace on to everyone that I come into contact with and who are open to receive it. The shape of all our souls is unique and we all have a special destiny here but we must all learn to see peace in ourselves with the same delight, pride and expectation in which God sees us in every moment of our lives. So sit in peace for a little while today and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Thursday smile.

Continue to live outside as much as possible and to live by faith rather than by sight

Good morning everyone and welcome to The Mindful Farmers Wednesday morning views from his window of wonder. As we all know, much of our lives are lived inside, inside our homes, houses, offices, cars travelling to and from work and if we spend too much time living inside it is very easy to live inside our heads and inside our own comfort zone. That's the wonderful thing about living on a farm with wide open spaces and in nature and it helps us to open up, not only our ears but our eyes. Most importantly, it allows us to open up our hearts to this beautiful world and the joys and beauty within. Continue to live outside as much as possible and to live by faith rather than by sight and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Wednesday smile.

It is also important that we bless each other today and every day as a blessing is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal and strengthen

Welcome everyone and today is a special day being World Mental Health Day. Today I am going to be joined in prayer and peace by some very special people. We will be concentrating on the "wind" at this particular moment. We will not dwell on the past and we will not dream of the future. We will sit and dwell in peace and in the now. In your minds eye pick anything or anywhere from the sun to the ocean and combine this visualisation with your breath and repeat the sequence several times. As you inhale and reach out your arms in front of you, hold the image in your mind. Now exhale and bring both hands to your heart all the while thinking of the image. When we perform this simple little exercise we can voyage anywhere in the world or send our problems away to anywhere in the world and free our minds from our worries and our troubles and they will all pass. It is also important that we bless each other today and every day as a blessing is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal and strengthen so for today continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, love and hope to all who need it and wear your Monday smile.

"have room in your hearts for some person or people who have no room anywhere today"

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to A Mindful Farmers Sunday. Every Sunday is always a special day for many reasons. Firstly, we have more time to rest. We have more time for peace and more time for each other. On a farm, first and foremost we will always look after the animals ensuring they have plenty of grass, feed and water and they are all in full health. Then we look after our own needs and those of our family. I am often reminded by what my parents used to say after mass on a Sunday morning "have room in your hearts for some person or people who have no room anywhere today" and it always comes to my mind on a Sunday. It was very wise. If there is no room in the heart then there will be no room in the house. So today, on this Sunday, have some place and space in your heart for someone and you will be all the better for it. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all who need it and wear your Sunday smile.

The more we are connected with ourselves the more we see our connection with others.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome. Today as I walked the fields mixed with the animals with my stick in my hand I really felt connected within myself to Mother Earth and nature all around me. In order to experience this true connectedness we need to learn how to be content in our own place, in our home, in our own company and how to take time alone in peace and tranquility. The more we are connected with ourselves the more we see our connection with others. When we realise that everything here on earth and everyone is really connected and related it is then that we can see the divinity in each other. So today, on this September Saturday, take a little time to connect and sit in peace and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, love and hope to all who need it and wear your Saturday smile.

Today I pray that we will all find in ourselves a courageous hospitality towards what is difficult, painful and unknown and for the strength to carry and lighten the load of your pain and we know now that darkness is deep and we all know that the very minute we were born the darkness of death has always walked beside us.

Welcome. Today is a sad day in the family of The Mindful Farmer. Grandad Jack suffered a stroke and was taken to the University Hospital Cork and he is not well. Even though he is almost 104 it seems he has been here forever, advising and helping everyone but now lifes dark companion is looming and all our eyes for the future are full of tears and nothing before has made us all feel so lost. Today I pray that we will all find in ourselves a courageous hospitality towards what is difficult, painful and unknown and for the strength to carry and lighten the load of your pain and we know now that darkness is deep and we all know that the very minute we were born the darkness of death has always walked beside us. So, Grandad Jack you have lived a wonderful and full life, have no fear when your time comes to turn and leave. You will always be with us. So today, my prayers are selfish and I want you all to pray for Grandad Jack and his family.
