The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary 317

Good morning everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, gardens and RetrEat centre on day 27 of our latest lock down. This morning the neighbourhood is cold with the winter freeze but soon we will experience the death of winter and the birth of spring, but also this morning in Ballinwillin we mourn the death and passing of Joe Mulcahy our neighbour, a legend in the music business and a founding member of the famous Maurice Mulcahy Band. A band that gave huge enjoyment to thousands of people worldwide. This morning our prayers are with his family, friends and neighbours. Now destiny calls Joe to a place of music where his trumpet will sound again for all our spiritual enjoyment, where his heart will always remain generous, all heavenly doors will open to his musical light as you now quietly befriend your death and you have no need to fear. You are among your own orchestra in the big band with your pure white suit you are now equal to your destiny and nearer to Earths heart. Rest in peace Joe. Continue to pray, bless and power healing to all who need it and wear your smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1206

Thinking about this time this morning and the wonderful people and neighbours that surrounded me in my developing years I smile to myself and realise these ordinary people were extraordinary and there was nothing ordinary about them at all.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Earlier this morning my mind wandered back to when I was growing up in West Limerick in a very rural area. Most of the community could be classified as ordinary people getting on with daily life and farming. They were also all different and separate in their personal lives but were full of human nature and understanding and really knew who they were as a people. Thinking about this time this morning and the wonderful people and neighbours that surrounded me in my developing years I smile to myself and realise these ordinary people were extraordinary and there was nothing ordinary about them at all. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Wednesday smile.

“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.”

Good morning everyone and welcome. Well, last evening we had a gathering here of inspiring and inspirational people. Many positive messages were exchanged but the one that I thought was most relevant to the group and the evening was about belief. It went as follows - "believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle." We all know this to be true but we must remember it and affirm it at least daily. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Tuesday smile.

Formal blessings are very rare in our modern society but it is a lovely old custom and one we might remember to enact more consciously. It is an important part of responsible living.

Good morning everyone and welcome. Earlier this morning I went around and refilled the Holy water fonts. I have a great belief in blessings and the reminder to bless and be blessed as we leave the threshold of the home. Formal blessings are very rare in our modern society but it is a lovely old custom and one we might remember to enact more consciously. It is an important part of responsible living, Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Monday smile.

The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1203

It is a very busy time of the year with a lot done and so much more to do and yet if we spend all our time working we won't get any time to enjoy it. We must be mindful to slow down and just look. It is only then we can enjoy the fullness of the summer season. It is time to give thanks for the beautiful weather and the successful harvest.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome once more to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. Walking out in the fields today, as I regularly do on Sundays, I am taking stock of the animals and other works required to be done on the farm. It is time to honour, to celebrate and to experience joy and when you have joy in your heart you are blessed. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Sunday best smile.

It is very enlightening when we people watch. How they walk, talk, their demeanour and so on but some people stand out and they are like well cleaned windows. They let the light in better with their small gestures of tenderness, forgiveness and humility.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the view from The Mindful Farmers window of wonder on the last day of June 2023. What do we see when we look through our curtains and people pass by? It is very enlightening when we people watch. How they walk, talk, their demeanour and so on but some people stand out and they are like well cleaned windows. They let the light in better with their small gestures of tenderness, forgiveness and humility. So, continue to opray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Friday, last day of June, big smile.

This daily process enables my spirit to unfold and as the spirit unfolds we can all grow to be our better and our true selves and in this way the heart knows how to find what is precious and beautiful.

There is something very special and soothing about the music of the ocean as it gently calms my spirit and lets me simply dream and remind me that I am a child of this beautiful earth.

This morning as  I sat by the ocean side I was almost mesmerised by the sparkling of the sun on the silver water as it glistened for my enjoyment, thankfulness and appreciation. The journey of the ocean is never done, controlled by the mood swings of the moon. There is something very special and soothing about the music of the ocean as it gently calms my spirit and lets me simply dream and remind me that I am a child of this beautiful earth. Good morning everyone and welcome to the present time. Nationally and internationally there is much agitation, frustration and complications in our world for various reasons and just the thought of these and listening to the media gives me a huge sense of unease. "beauty is truth, truth beauty - that is all ye know on earth and all ye need to know". So today, all we need to do is to continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Monday smile.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the beginning of another great week. It is up to us all to face each day, each week with joy and confidence and thanksgiving and this morning I am going with the words of the poet John Keats who said "beauty is truth, truth beauty - that is all ye know on earth and all ye need to know". So today, all we need to do is to continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Monday smile.

I always like to sit in the garden or out in the fields under the shade of an old oak tree and watch the animals and nature relax also. Sunday is always a day I find peace at my side and realize that the path to peace is a direct line between God and man, a oneness of divinity and humanity.

Good morning everyone and welcome to another beautiful, sunny Sunday morning. Sunday for The Mindful Farmer is always a day of relative rest after the mornings work has been completed. I always feel very relaxed on Sundays. It is that a calm and peace enwraps my heart and mind and it is a rest day from the worries and frets of life. I always like to sit in the garden or out in the fields under the shade of an old oak tree and watch the animals and nature relax also. This old ritual celebration is also related to fire, water, fertility and natural cleansing. As I stood back from the crowd I felt so proud to be Irish and all that is spiritual in me welcomed the wonder of the night and my everlasting wish is that we as Irish people will always have the courage to celebrate and enable our lives to flame in the name of fire, flame and light.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the view from The Mindful Farmers window of wonder. Last evening we were invited to a celebration of St. John's night at a friend's house in Connemara. The bonfire was blazing, food was served, wine was available, the assembled crowd of around 50 people were all united in heart, mind and spirit with the odd old Irish rendering also. Time can be a protector as we are frail creatures and can only realistically handle twenty four hours at a time otherwise we will become a tyrant ticking away relentlessly in our minds. We must learn the art of mastering time or it will master us.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Ballinwillin House Farm, Gardens and RetrEat centre. It is June 21st, Summer Solstice, a day when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and daylight lasts the longest making it the longest day of the year. It is always a special day and should be celebrated always. Growing up in West Limerick we always celebrated this day with music, song and dance late into the night. It was celebrated in thanksgiving. Timing and dates were and still are very important. Time can be a protector as we are frail creatures and can only realistically handle twenty four hours at a time otherwise we will become a tyrant ticking away relentlessly in our minds. We must learn the art of mastering time or it will master us. Everything has its season and the good thing about seasons is that they always return. Now, that is comforting so lets enjoy this special day and master time and continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Summer Solstice smile.

It is a reminder to me that the earth and Mother Nature speaks to us in magical tones but only to us who can hear with their hearts. Earth's whispers are everywhere but only those who have dreamt with the earth can hear them.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the view from The Mindful Farmers window of wonder. This morning I am in the garden admiring the climbing roses which are in full bloom for now. I purchased these plants in a famous garden just outside Paris, France which specialised in roses. When I brought them home it took a few years for them to settle into their new home. This was about fifteen years ago but now they are very happy in their home and are just magic and amazing to look at. Their perfumes are intoxicating. It is a reminder to me that the earth and Mother Nature speaks to us in magical tones but only to us who can hear with their hearts. Earth's whispers are everywhere but only those who have dreamt with the earth can hear them. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Tuesday smile.

My three wonderful fathers have taught me to strand on sure ground and believe that every grace and want I need will unfold before me through prayer and thanksgiving just like on this beautiful morning and all the mornings of my life.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the view from The Mindful Farmers window of wonder on this beautiful sunny Sunday morning. It is Fathers Day today they tell me and the texts are flying in from the children and making arrangements for a meal later in the day which is lovely. My own Dad passed away over 19 years ago and I still miss his physical presence so much. He taught me everything I know about nature, farming, the soil and respect. Then I had Miriams Dad up until 2 months ago, a man nearly 105 years old who also had a huge presence in my life and acted as my second Dad until passing. Another great man. Then thirdly, my Connemara Dad, Mick O' Neill, who passed away only recently and was a huge presence also in my life and especially my Connemara life. All three have passed to their heavenly reward and left me with a huge legacy of happiness and memories and I know they are looking after me and mine now in a way they never could when on earth because now they are nearer to the divine presence and watching over us, guiding us and protecting us. My three wonderful fathers have taught me to strand on sure ground and believe that every grace and want I need will unfold before me through prayer and thanksgiving just like on this beautiful morning and all the mornings of my life. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Sunday best smile.

Our heads tell us we are too busy to take time out and enjoy nature but we must take the time to consult with our inner selves and listen to our heart of hearts and it is there we will find the source of wisdom to mind us for our lives.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the view from The Mindful Farmers window of wonder on this very beautiful Saturday morning. There is much conversation in the world at the moment about the rising cost of living and how expensive everything has become and yet when I look at the beauty in front of my eyes on this beautiful morning and there are so many beautiful sights of creation that are there for us and free for the taking. Our heads tell us we are too busy to take time out and enjoy nature but we must take the time to consult with our inner selves and listen to our heart of hearts and it is there we will find the source of wisdom to mind us for our lives. The Mindful Farmers Daily Diary Day 1187

“I will tell you how a misty rain can flood a river. It is like life and when prayer and love overcomes seemingly immovable objects by never stopping and never giving up.”

Good morning everyone and welcome. Last evening a few good men were helping out in a friends garden. Now, this garden had been completely overgrown and neglected for  years and this was a new beginning for this beautiful space. Out of the blue one of the men said to me "Patrick when we are finished here and it will take a long time, this place will be like misty rains, coming softly but flooding the river." Now, there is a stream at the side of the garden but it will never make a river and his words made no sense to me as yet anyway. Mike knew he had me thinking and before we parted company for the evening he came over to me and said "I will tell you how a misty rain can flood a river. It is like life and when prayer and love overcomes seemingly immovable obstacles by never stopping and never giving up." A beautiful message received in the garden from a quiet and holy man. We all have a message to give, just don't be shy about sharing it. Continue to pray, bless, power healing, peace, hope and love to all and wear your Friday smile.
